Parents are the first teachers of their children.
We think of teachers as parents at school and parents as teachers at home. Teacher – Parent partnership in the learning process in school is therefore for a child’s performance in school, as many studies have confirmed. We strive to partner with our students’ parents at every opportunity.
Some initiatives involving parent participation and interaction are:
Parents Orientation
New parents attend orientation programmes at the beginning of each academic year to understand school’s expectations and practices.
Parents Teacher Meetings (PTM)
Formal PTM’s happen three times a year.
Meetings happen at the end of every term along with report card & teacher comments. Apart from the discussions on student performance in term exams, various student improvements are shared. By interacting with the parents, the teachers learn more about the children and therefore, able to respond to his/her learning needs. PTMs ensure that the teachers and parents work together to ensure that all needs of the child are catered to.
